    What was the fort protecting? What was it like to man the gunline? Learn all this and more during a walking tour through the main gunline on Artillery Hill. It is recommended to bring a flashlight and wear closed-toed shoes.<BR><BR>

    Accessibility: The tour will go down into batteries and up above them. There will be stairs and low light. There are several trails to hike up to the top of the hill ranging from moderate to moderately strenuous. Visit the Park Office for a trail map.     BEAR AWARENESS Reducing conflict between bears and humans. WDFW Bear Talk Lake Wenatchee State Park WEDNESDAY JUNE 14TH 5-6PM South Park Amphitheater Children are encouraged to attend! Presented in collaboration between Plain Valley Adventure Women, Lake Wenatchee State Park Rangers and Washington State Fish and Wildlife Karelian Bear Dog Program. This educational talk is directed toward the Plain, Lake Wenatchee, and White River communities. Greater knowledge and understanding about the wildlife we live together with can help reduce conflict and potentially save the lives of both humans and animals.     Washington State Parks, along with members of the Spokane Tribe of Indians and the Friends of Spokane House, is hosting a formal dedication of the new murals on the Spokane House Interpretive Center next Saturday, June 10, at 1pm. This event is free and open to the public. The site is at 13501 N. Nine Mile Falls Road (Hwy 291) in Nine Mile Falls, just north of the Nine Mile Falls dam. This event is occurring simultaneously as the Friends of Spokane House's annual Fur Trade Encampment that will be both Saturday and Sunday, and again, are free.
