Winter Recreation program seeks contractors for plowing, snow removal

OLYMPIA – Oct. 28, 2021 – Washington State Parks’ Winter Recreation Program is looking for contractors to plow and clear Sno-Parks this winter. Contracts run from Dec. 1, 2021 to March 31, 2022.

Contractors are needed for the following areas:

  • Mount Adams Sno-Parks
  • Cle Elum River Valley Area Sno-Parks
  • Blewett Pass Sno-Parks
  • Taneum Sno-Park near Cle Elum

Interested parties should contact Winter Recreation Operations Manager, Jason Goldstein: Jason.goldstein@parks.wa.gov

Proof of COVID vaccination is not required for this contract work.

High service levels, high use

Washington state Sno-Park users enjoy a high level of service, including cleared parking lots; groomed ski, skate-ski and snowmobile tracks and regularly sanitized bathrooms.

Over the last 12 years, the program has opened new permanent Sno-Parks around the state and created temporary Sno-Parks to meet customer demand.

During the 2020-21 season, Sno-Park use reached an all-time high, particularly along the I-90 corridor. The Winter Recreation Program anticipates a similar level of usage this season.
