State Parks Commission annual planning meeting scheduled at Cama Beach next week

OLYMPIA – Nov. 28, 2018 – The Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission will have its annual two-day planning meet next week at Cama Beach Historical State Park.

The planning meeting is scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday Dec. 5, and will conclude at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 6, at the Cama Center in Cama Beach Historical State Park, 1880 S.W. Camano Drive, Camano Island.  The public is invited to all meetings of the Commission; however, there is no Commission action taken, and no public comment will be heard.  

The meeting agenda includes:

  • Year-in-review report
  • Staff update on current projects and initiatives
  • Discussion on developing the next agency Strategic Plan
  • Director’s evaluation process and executive session for evaluation
  • 2019 staff work plans and priorities
  • Commission 2019 priorities
  • Legal updates from the agency’s assistant attorney general
  • A commission and staff roundtable session

Commission tours and events during the week
Commission members will gather at 9 a.m. Friday, Dec., 7, to tour Bridle Trails State Park, 5300 116th Ave. N.W., Kirkland. Following the tour, they will attend an event  at noon Friday, Dec. 7, at the Saint Edward State Park Seminary Building, 14445 Juanita Drive N.E., Kenmore.
