15-064 Ring in autumn at Lake Sylvia Fall Festival, Sept. 19

OLYMPIA – Sept. 4, 2015 – The Friends of Schafer and Lake Sylvia (FOSLS) invite the public to the 6th Annual Discover Lake Sylvia Fall Festival at Lake Sylvia State Park in Montesano.

The festival is from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, at Lake Sylvia State Park, 1812 N. Lake Sylvia Rd., Montesano. (Directions: https://goo.gl/maps/bmTq5)

The family-oriented festival kicks off with a camp pancake breakfast. Also included in the day’s events are a 10k half marathon starting at 8:30 a.m., music, kid’s games and races, a 2-mile family fun run, an artist’s market, food vendors, a history of Lake Sylvia, boy scout cooking demonstrations and kid’s nature art. Shuttle service will be available at Simpson Elementary School, 519 W. Simpson Ave., Montesano. (Directions: http://www.monteschools.org/simpson-about-us) Those wishing to park at the lake must have an annual $30 Discover Pass or a $10 daily pass, which will be available for purchase at the park.

About Lake Sylvia State Park
Lake Sylvia State Park is a quiet 233-acre camping park set in a wooded area outside of Montesano on 15,000 feet of freshwater shoreline. Fishing is a popular activity in the park, with plenty of access to the lake, including an ADA fishing dock and boat ramp. Non-motorized boats are allowed on the lake.
