[ARCHIVED] 15-053 Learn to photograph wildlife at Lake Sammamish State Park

Classes are in two parts, Aug. 25 and 29

OLYMPIA – Aug. 4, 2015 – The Friends of Lake Sammamish State Park and Northwest Wildlife Photos invite the public to a two-day course in wildlife photography, taking place at Lake Sammamish State Park in Issaquah.

The photography class is from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 25, and from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 29 at Lake Sammamish State Park 2000 N.W. Sammamish Rd., Issaquah (Directions: https://goo.gl/maps/XSFsf). The Aug. 25 class meets at the new Sunset Beach Bathhouse. On Aug. 29, participants will meet at the bathhouse and then spend the day shooting wildlife in the park.

No experience is necessary. Participants should bring a camera (even a smart phone), note pads and questions. Mobile internet devices are also good to bring but optional. Session content is flexible to accommodate varying levels of interest and experience. Visit Northwest Wildlife Photo's website at www.NorthwestWildlifePhotos.com.

The class is designed for people age 14 or older. Cost is $20, which includes both days. Space is limit; organizers request that people register for the classes at: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/wildlife-photography-class-in-two-parts-tickets-17785620269.

A Discover Pass is required for vehicle access to the park on Aug. 29. On Aug. 25, the Discover Pass will not be required because it’s a State Parks ‘free’ day to celebrate the National Park System’s 99th birthday. (www.DiscoverPass.wa.gov.)

Organizers request that participants leave pets at home.
