Prescribed burning within Turnbull National Wildlife Refuge
Turnbull National Wildlife Refuge near the Columbia Plateau Trail from late October through February.
Prescribed fire is a management technique used to improve wildlife habitat, forest health and to reduce the damaging impacts from catastrophic wildfire. Prescribed burning activities should have little to no effect on access to the majority of Refuge public use areas.
Forest health for thinning and piling will occur off the Cheney Plaza Road. Vehicles may be along the trail.
