Washington State Parks turns 100 years old this year. Come celebrate!
The Washington state park system was established on March 19, 1913, and for a century, people have been making special memories in Washington's beautiful state parks.
We invite you to get out to your state parks and make your own great memories with family and friends in 2013. Join the birthday celebration by attending any of dozens of events and activities in parks all over the state, all year long.
Join a fun run or hiking event, or take a geocache challenge. Attend a community-park celebration, cultural festival, or fun-packed Centennial activity day. Go to a campfire program. Take a ranger tour. Visit an interpretive center.
Or create your own celebration with a family trip to any of 117 state parks. Go for the day to enjoy picnicking, hiking, biking, and more. Stay for the night in your tent, RV, or a rental cabin, yurt, or historic vacation house. Choose your landscape - from ocean beach, marine park, or forest, to shrub-steppe, dessert, or river gorge. Washington's state parks offer something for everyone!
